Tooth Knocked Out

If a child or adult has a tooth knocked out it is important to see a dentist as soon as possible. If the tooth is a baby tooth and it is knocked all the way out, it will not be put back in. If it’s loose, we will evaluate with x-rays. If the tooth is an adult tooth and is knocked all the way out, do not pick up the tooth by the root. You can gently rinse it under water to remove debris, like dirt, but do not touch the root. Place the tooth back in the socket if possible. If not, place the tooth in a wet paper towel and bring it with you
